On August 28, 2025, a training intensive dedicated to saving movable cultural heritage during wartime took place in Kyiv. The event brought together 36 participants from across Ukraine.

The training involved representatives of 19 museums, 3 civil society organizations, 6 specialized educational institutions, 2 libraries, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, and volunteers. Participants practiced rescue actions for artworks recovered from the rubble of the Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design named after Mykhailo Boychuk.

The training marked a symbolic conclusion of extensive joint work that united museum professionals, restorers, archivists, and other specialists in safeguarding cultural heritage during the war.

Participants emphasized the importance of the practical component, noting that hands-on work with real damaged objects provided invaluable experience. They also highlighted the rare opportunity for direct communication between museum professionals, archivists, and restorers, allowing them to ask questions and receive expert guidance on safe conservation practices without risking further damage.

The success of the training confirmed its high practical value, and the organizers announced plans for future events focused on cultural heritage preservation.

The training was organized by the Agency for Cultural Resilience (ACURE), the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity (Maidan Museum), the National Research and Restoration Center of Ukraine, and Cultural Emergency Response, hosted by the Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design named after Mykhailo Boychuk, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine. The initiative was supported by UNESCO Ukraine.
